How to make pom poms!

Supplies

• 10 to 12 sheets of tissue paper in desired color
• pipe cleaner
• monofilament or ribbon
• sharp scissors

step 1.  Stack 10 to 12 sheets of tissue paper.  make 1 ½” wide accordion folds, creasing folds crisply as you go.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

step 2.  Fold the pipe cleaner in half, slip it over the center of the folded tissue and twist.  Tie the monofilament or ribbon to the pipe cleaner so you can hang the finished pom pom.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

step 3.  Trim the ends into rounded or pointed shapes.  We used pointed shapes for the demonstration.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

step 4.  Separate layers, gently pulling away from the center one at a time.   Hang them!
