5 Ways to Use Nailhead Doodads and So Much MoreBy
Please accept my apologies for the “missed” Design Wednesday Wisdom. Technical difficulties just jumped in the way. So here is “Catch Up Thursday”!
I recently attended a textile fair and found lots of fabulous new fabrics that will be showing up in the next few months. But we stumbled onto something that has amazing possibilities far beyond simple nailhead trim for an upholstered chair.
Heico Fasteners could be equated to a “candy store” for a creative designer’s mind. Their exhibit had thousands and thousands of nailheads and adaptors with several ways to expand the use of the “sometimes” ordinary nailhead.
Five ways to use nailhead and doodads:
- Tufting buttons for headboard and cornices
- Embellishment for lamp shades
- Drawer pulls by adding an adaptor
- Napkin rings by adding an adaptor
- Add a few metal doodads to sandals and handbags
Here are a few pictures from their exhibit:
This is just a peek at the many uses of these fasteners, etc. When I get some parts and pieces I will show you how this all goes together.
