Archive for mid-century
Several months ago I shared my blog about A Design Career that Was Meant to Be. If you missed it here it is. http://marysherwoodlifestyles.com/a-design-career-that-was-meant-to-be
Since then I have been searching for my childhood scrapbook that I mentioned in that blog. I found it!!! Boy was I surprised about the origin of “my design career that was meant to be”. The scrapbook was not dated but one of the pasted pictures was a 1956 Chevy. That makes me about five years old. Who would have ever guessed that was just the beginning of all the colors boards I would create in my design career. Destiny certainly speaks through these pictures of contemporary styles, use of color, love of flowers (especially red tulips-my favorite) and design concepts (such as the use of three pillows). Enjoy the pictures of interior styles in the mid-1950’s which today is called mid-century design!
All of these pictures are pages of my childhood scrapbook!
After seeing how my early childhood lead me to this place I realize how important the early years of life must be. I am so fortunate to have a successful design career and live the passion that has always been inside me.
Follow your heart, find your passion, create your lifestyle.
Thank you for traveling back into the future with me!
