Like a mirage, “Desert Moon” is the epitome of enchantment. This gorgeous glasswork by Mary Sherwood takes an intimate perspective of rolling dunes beneath a midnight horizon. As an exploration of the artist’s home in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona, Mary takes us into the scene that lives right outside of her studio doors.  

A rust-colored moon hangs delicately in a bright blue sky. The unpronounced horizon dances across various textures – multi-colored beads add a sense of motion that sways like the wind, and everything cascades into a warm sandy landscape.
